Prevalence of latent and clinical HPV-associated neoplasia

A group of 528 women was examined for the prevalence of HPV-DNA infection using the Hybride Capture System. In the group of women with Papanicolaou smear I and II the high risk HPV-DNA infection was found in 14.72% and low risk in 7.84% of the investigated patients. In the group of patients with CIN the high risk HPV infection was found in 70.4% and low risk in 11.1%. The study was financed with the funds of KBN 0842/S-4/93/04 project.
