Figure 1 The number of cases and the percentage of individual causes of death in patients with COVID-19 among all deceased persons in the observed group. COVID-19 lung disease includes deaths due to respiratory failure in the course of SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia, including pneumothorax. Thromboembolic complication included pulmonary embolism, other thromboembolic events, myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke. Bacterial superinfections included VAP, hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP), other sepsis - generalized infections with a source other than the respiratory system, neuroinfection, and pulmonary aspergillosis.
