(B) End-inspiratory diaphragm thickness measured during maximal voluntary inspiration in the same intercostal location. (C) Diaphragmatic excursion assessed in M-mode using a 2–4 MHz convex probe placed below the right costal margin along the midclavicular line during deep breathing. The excursion is calculated based on the amplitude of diaphragm movement.
