BMI – body mass index (calculated as the weight in kilograms divided by the square of the height in meters). Normally distributed data are given as mean±SD and non-normally distributed data are expressed as median (IQR). Statistical significances between the control group (=183; male=95, female=88) and the Indigenous group (=165; male=83, female=82) were determined by the independent sample test and noted as * Non-Indigenous students (control group) were healthy eligible college and university students; ** Indigenous students (Indigenous group) were age-matched eligible college and university Indigenous students who were neither specific elite athletes nor have trained in other sports professionally. |
