Figure 2 Scatter diagram and regression line of limb muscle weight (LMWDXA) and the difference between BWm and BMI. A strong linear correlation between LMWDXA and (BWm-BMI) can be seen (r=0.719, P<0.001, y=289.2×(BWm-BMI) +3631). This enables us to approximate muscle mass simply by using BWm and height. BMI – body mass index; BWm – measured body weight; DXA – dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry; LMWDXA – limb muscle weight obtained by DXA.
