Figure 1 Cardiac cachexia represents an advanced stage of CHF characterized by systemic decline and metabolic dysfunction. This condition leads to profound nutrition depletion and a catabolic state, manifesting as anorexia, progressive weakness, emaciation, pronounced cheekbones, hollow eye sockets, a pallid complexion, and skeletal muscle atrophy.
