Abstract
The aim of the study was an evaluation of the influence of general anaesthesia with controlled urapidil induced hypotension (KPT) on regional cerebral oxygenation measured by the near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). The prospective controlled study was performed in 29 children undergoing an elective scoliosis surgery. Regional cerebral oxygenation (BrO2), heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP), peripheral haemoglobin saturation (SpO2) and end-tidal carbon dioxide pressure (EtCO2) were measured during the whole perioperative period. All monitored parameters were analysed: before induction of anaesthesia (PRE-IND); after endotracheal intubation (INT); after induction (POST-IND); before, during and after controlled hypotension (PRE-KPT,KPT, POST-KPT); after extubation (EXT); in postanaesthesia period (POST-ANEST) and during the whole perianaesthesia time divided to three phases: before, during and after KPT. Infusion of urapidil was effective in inducing controlled hypotension without increase in HR (p
