The aim of the study was an evaluation of the influence of general anaesthesia with controlled urapidil induced hypotension (KPT) on regional cerebral oxygenation measured by the near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS). The prospective controlled study was performed in 29 children undergoing an elective scoliosis surgery. Regional cerebral oxygenation (BrO2), heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP), peripheral haemoglobin saturation (SpO2) and end-tidal carbon dioxide pressure (EtCO2) were measured during the whole perioperative period.
