Celiac disease is an enteropathy genetically determined by hypersensitivity of the small bowel mucosa towards gluten. Most often, it is found in children, although recently adults are being diagnosed with it as well. The clinical heterogenicity makes it difficult to diagnose, which may lead to many complications from different organs and systems. This study demonstrates a case of an atypical celiac disease outcome with a long symptomless period, elevated IgA levels and hypertransaminasemia in a 66 year old woman.
