Abstract
We used 320 strains of Candida albicans, isolated from healthy women (n=95) and from those with vulvovaginitis candidiasis(n=225). The aim of this study was to assess the hydrolytic activity of the tested strains and their resistance to antimycotics from healthy women and from women with vulvovaginitis. Generally 30.03% strains of Candida albicans were resistant to all tested antimycotics. 39.46% of isolates from women with vulvovaginitis candidamycetica were resistant to the tested antimycotics in comparison to 7.72% of healthy women. Isolates from women with vulvovaginitis candidamycetica were resistant to fluconazole (72%), pimaricine (65.33%) and ketoconazole (58.67%). Among isolates from healthy women, no resistant strains to 5-fluorocytosine were found. 82.22% of isolates from women with vulvovaginitis were resistant to two or more drugs, incomparison to and only 14.74% of isolates from healthy women. Isolates from women with vulvovaginitis incomparison with healthy, women had a significanty higher hydrolytic activity. Isolates from women with vaginitis, had the highest activity of leucine arylamidase, lipase esterase and esterase. Isolates from healthy women had the highest activity of leucine arylamidase, esterase and esterase lipase. We found, no activity of b-glucuronidase. Isolates from women with vaginitis had a high resistance to the tested antimycotics and a higher hydrolytic activity.
