Presence of circulating immune complexes in serum of tuberculosis patients

Abstract
The aim of the current study was to investigate frequency of occurrence and levels of Erythrocyte-Antibody (EA) and Erythrocyte-Antibody-Complement (EAC) circulating immune complexes in the blood of 150 healthy volunteers and 29 patients with active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) before the treatment, 16 patients after two-month antituberculosis treatment and 27 persons with inactive tuberculosis. The EA, EAC rosettes inhibition test (RI EA, RI EAC) were used to measure levels of circulating immune complexes (CIC) following Bakkaloglu's, Morito's with modification by Sztaba-Kania and Smith's methods.
