Variability of the cystic artery and duct in laparoscopy

Abstract
The aim of the study was to classify the size of the cystic artery and duct and their relationship. Observations were carried out in 300 laparoscopic cholecystectomies performed in the III Department and Clinic of Surgery in 1994. Typical relationship of the cystic artery to the cystic duct was found in 173 cases (58%). In 127 cases (42%) anatomic variations were found. The study showed various relationship of the cystic duct. It was also found that the cystic ducts, in contrast to the cystic arteries, varied in width and length.
