The problem of postoperative pain relief still remains unsolved. On the words acute pain is treated irregularly with no regime and efficacy control. Recently, Acute Paint Services (APS) have been made responsible for pain relief. We present the organisation system, methods and results of work of our Acute Pain Team (APT). We analysed two months of our work, during which we looked after 220 patients applying different methods of postoperative pain relief. 142 patients had good pain relief, 56 moderate and 22 minimal. Other APS tasks included: assessment of quality of anaesthesia, search for potential adverse effects and complications, in-service education of the word staff and research into acute pain management.
