Tuberculosis of the spine in chronically haemodialysed patient

Abstract
The authors describe a patient undergoing maintenance dialysis who developed atypical symptoms of isolated tuberculosis of the spine accompanied by paraparesis. An antituberculous therapy with isoniasid and rifampicin was administered and was successfully continued for 12 months. Difficulties in diagnosing tuberculosis in patients on maintenance dialysis are also being discussed.
