The aim of the study was to determine the incidence of urinary tract infection (UTI) in hospitalised children and to identify uropathological bacteria present in uropathies. The study included 317 out of 2216 hospitalised children. The frequency of UTI was similar in age groups and was slightly higher in boys. E. coli and Proteus were found to be the most common bacteria. Ultrasound, micturition cystouretrography and, occasionally, urography were performed.
