Diagnostically difficult case of pulmonary embolism in the course of pancreatic carcinoma

Abstract
The authors describe the case of 32-year-old man with pulmonary embolism and migrating venous thrombosis in the course of the carcinoma of the tail of pancreas. The emphasis was put on the difficulties in establishing an unmistakable diagnosis of both the embolism itself and its aetiology, despite extensive technical possibilities. In the described case, disease aetiology was only established in a post-mortem examination.
