Intestinal obstruction during pregnancy and puerperium is a rare but clinically significant complication. The double uterus (uterus didelphys) is a rare anomaly whose estimated occurrence varies between 1:954 and 1:28560 cases. Presented here is a case of a 27-year-old woman with a double uterus following delivery of a healthy baby by cesarean section. On the 3rd day following delivery she developed symptoms of intestinal obstruction. During laparotomy, we found an incarcerated sigmoid colon between two bodies of the involuting uterus. We performed sigmoid liberation and the smaller uterus was amputated. The postoperative course was uneventful and the patient was discharged after 12 days.
