Thyroid hormone and thyrotropin in children and adolescents with thyroid gland tumours

Abstract
Blood serum concentration of thyroxin (T4), triiodothyronine (T3) and thyrotropin (TSH) as well as the values of T3/T4 index were analysed in children and adolescents with thyroid gland tumours. The control group included children with goiter simplex. The concentration of T3 and the value of T3/T4 index were significantly higher in the group of children with nodular goiter than in the control group. The concentrations of T4 and TSH were similar in both groups.
