Helicobacter pylori as one of the pathogenetic factors of rosacea

Abstract
We performed gastrofiberoscopic examinations with urease tests in order to establish Helicobacter pylori infections in 35 rosacea patients and 28 control subjects, as well as the histopathological assessment of stomach mucous membrane samples and determine the presence of specific serum antibodies. Helicobacter pylori infections were found more frequently in patients with rosacea, which might be indicative of its participation in the etiopathology of this disease. Clinical improvement following Helicobacter pylori eradication was obtained in most rosacea patients.
